Machinarium

Machinarium screen 1

I saw Machinarium on sale for $5 so I decided to try it out. Best $5 game ever. The first thing that caught my eye was the artwork, which is absolutely amazing. Every scene in the game is like playing in a work of art.

You play as a little steam punk robot that’s trying to find his robot girlfriend. In order to find her, you need to navigate a series of puzzles and scenes in order to move on. A lot of the puzzles are games, some of the levels contain basic programming. I have to admit I needed help on a lot of the levels because of the complexity. If you have some time to kill, definitely try this game out. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Vox Ball Stats

Ever since we started keeping stats at Vox Ball using the iScore iPhone app, Yeeland’s been working hard at getting a website up to display all the stats.  He has a new version up with player profiles and more comprehensive stats.  Probably nicer than most leagues out there and we’re just a weekly pick up game.  Go check it out.

iPhone4 Bumper Review

iPhone 4 with Black Bumper Case - Back side

Pros
- The iPhone4 has always felt delicate, the bumper makes it feel a lot more solid and impact resistant
- The case is designed by Apple and you can tell, it’s more polished and fits the industrial design a lot better than other cases
- The rubberized edges keep the iPhone from slipping and sliding when on a desk or other surfaces
- I have a car holder from Proclip and they have a new iPhone4 holder that accomodates the bumper.

Cons
- Attracts lint around the edges of the case which drives me crazy since I’m a bit OCD about my technology
- Harder to put in and pull out of the pocket because of the rubberized edges
- Doesn’t fit the iPhone4 dock that I bought

You may have noticed I changed the theme of my wordpress install. I didn’t really plan on changing the theme but I tried to update my old theme from Modularity 1.1 to 1.2 and it effectively screwed up a lot of the modifications I had done on it. So after trying out a ton of different themes in the past few days, I’ve settled on this one. I don’t find it that much better than my old one, but it’ll work for now.
