As much as I am happy to see Greg Davis resign, I’ve always been one to give credit where it is due. We won the National Championship in 2005 under Greg Davis’ coaching and I feel Longhorn fans were quick to forget how prolific his offense was under Vince and Colt.

That being said, this year was painful to watch. The major fault of Greg Davis was his inability to adapt. He felt he could run the same plays with a different group of players and get the same result.

Fault also lies with the players. I watched some highlights from 2005 where we ran the same exact screen as we did this year. The difference was that there was down field blocking and the receiver was able to make a move to spring the play. This year there was no blocking and no one could make the cut to break a play except for Mike Davis.

So here’s hoping for a new start and a brand new offense for next year. I have confidence Mack will make the right hire and get us back on the right track.
