House Work
Did some work on the new place today. We’re still two weeks out from moving in but we’ve been getting some stuff done before we move in. Today we ePoxyed the garage and put some liner in all of the shelves in the kitchen. May 2nd is the move in date and we’ll have a house warming party a few weeks after that.
We made it
After 24 hours, we finally made it into the ranch house in Gypsum, Colorado. Other than some crazy wind in the panhandle and a slight detour on a highway, the ride went pretty smoothly. We’re currently getting fitted by a company called Ski Butlers that come out to your house with all the equipment you request and fit you at your place. Sure beats waiting in a line at the ski resort for everyone to get fitted. Pete’s cooking dinner right now and we’re all decompressing from the long ride here.
Series of Unfortunate Events
Yesterday sarted off well. We left Tahoe at ariund 8:15 AM and only experienced light traffic on our way back to SF. We had some great Dim Sum in the Richmond district.
The headaches began after we got into SFO. Our flight to DFW was delayed. Once we got close to Dallas, we found out we’d be getting off the plane at the same time our connecing flight was scheduled to leave. Pete and I ended up running across the sky bridge at DFW only to find no one and no plane at our gate.
We rescheduled for the next morning and they gave us a room in the Westin. Nice right? We had to wait for an hour as 3 different shuttles to the Westin filled up and left for the hotel.
After finally getting into our room I thought a nice hot shower would help. Too bad the shower was too hot. On one end, the water was boiling hot. On the other end it was still too hot to stand in. Now after 5 hours of sleep I’m back at DFW trying to board my morning flight to Austin.
Day 2 finished
LAX
Currently delayed at LAX. The past few times I’ve been through here, I always seem to end up in this part of the AA Terminal.
During the flight, there was a guy sitting two rows behind me that kept talking. Normally the white noise does a good job in drowning out voices but I guess his voice was just at the right frequency because I could hear everything he was saying. I eventually put my headphones on and had to turn the music all the way up. Amazing..
Firewire 400
This morning I dropped off Yvonne for her UTMB interview in Houston. After wandering around trying to find a coffee shop to get some work done, I finally find a Starbucks. I order my drink, settle down to get some editing done when I realize my computer has no firewire 400 port anymore and I left my firewire 800 cable at home. Oh well, editing will have to be done later this weekend.
