Web Host 07Apr08 | 1
So my webhost, iPower Web, decided to make their MySQL server slow as hell yesterday and into today. I spent a good part of yesterday and today trying to figure out exactly what was wrong, only to realize it was all on their end. In the process of troubleshooting, I lost some of the stuff I had been working on so I’ll try to get some of the archives back up asap. As for now, I’m just happy this thing works like it should.
Roller Hockey 11Jun07 | 0
I played roller hockey for the first time since high school yesterday. Brought back memories of playing at JJ Pierce with all the old DCBC people. I only got to play for an hour but that was probably enough since it was like 95 degrees outside. After that I had to jump in the shower and then head off to Vox to do production. Surprisingly I’m not sore today. Rather impressed with myself.

Millie was selling some of her paintings so I picked one up to spruce up the boring white wall in my office. I had originally thought of printing one of my pictures to put up on the wall but I think this works much better.

“Texas forward Kevin Durant is expected to declare for the NBA today, ending weeks of hand-wringing by NBA executives who feared he might pull a Joakim Noah and return to Texas for his sophomore season.
According to the sources I’ve spoken with, Durant actually wanted to return to Texas, mostly because of lifestyle and maturity issues. But once it became clear that Nike was going to offer him upward of $20 million in endorsements to go along with that guaranteed NBA contract, the pros of going pro outweighed the merits of returning to school.”

I can walk away happy saying that I got to watch Vince Young and Kevin Durant in person.
Obama 23Feb07 | 0
I went to go listen to Barack Obama today in Austin. I took off from work at around 12 and found a pretty nice parking spot right next to Auditorium Shores. The line to get in was really long already. We finally got in at around 1:15 and I got a nice spot front and center. They had a few live bands play and finally at around 3, Obama came out. He had a pretty good speech based on the idea of “The Audacity of Hope.” I took a ton of pictures even though it was drizzling at certain points. Obama definitely has it together to make a strong run.

For everyone that’s been keeping up with 24, this site is pretty hilarious. It reviews the previous weeks’ episode.

Waitress 15Dec06 | 0
So Vox staff ate at Clay Pit today for lunch and I could’ve sworn that I knew our waitress from somewhere. When I mentioned it, Wey and Matt both thought they knew her too. We finally figured out she was on Prison Break for a few episodes this year. Tweener’s ride was our waitress.
