The Blog

This blog, in it’s current form, serves as a compilation for all my photos and videos that I make for fun and for others. I’ve been blogging since 1999, so it also contains an archive of all my blog posts since then. I’ve learned, over the years, that I’m a lot better at taking photos and making videos than I am at writing. Due to this epiphany, I limit my writings to observations and reviews.

The Gear

Sometimes people are curious about what I use to create my photos and my videos. I have a Panasonic GF1 with a 20mm 1.7 lens that I carry around with me at all times.  For sporting events and concerts I’ll bring my unassuming GF1 and a 45-200mm lens that the size of most SLR kit lenses. Most security guards won’t hassle me because of the size of the setup. Occasionally I like to take video with my ContourHD helmet cam.

For editing of my photos, I used Aperture 3.  I have 30,000+ photos in my library and almost all of them are keyworded and geotagged.  For basic video archiving and editing, I’ve found iMovie to be more than sufficient.  It allows for quick, hassle free editing.  For multicam editing and more complicated projects, I use Final Cut Pro and Motion.
